COW CAVALRY MEMORIAL GOES UP IN PLANT CITY, FL

Plant City, FL - Today is a proud day for the native Southron people of the Tampa Bay area of Florida – Ms. Martha Skinner, a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy of Plant City, has erected a small granite memorial on City property in honor of Florida’s legendary “Cow Calvary”.

For those that are unfamiliar with the history of the Cow Calvary, they existed within the Central Florida area along what is today the I-4 corridor, and successfully defended the area’s vital cattle ranches, horse ranches, and farms from the repeated and illegal raids of foreign Yankee armies despite any formal training.
