Tallahassee, FL - Florida state Rep. Donald Brown (R) introduced a bill two months ago to create the long awaited Confederate Heritage license plate for the state. Since then Brown and the SCV have been fought tooth and nail by a coalition of opponents whom hate Southerners and our heritage. Groups such as the NAACP, ACLU, and even the Democratic Party, once a champion of the Southern people, has joined the fight to stop the passage of Rep. Browns bill.
The Heritage plate if approved would join the 50 or so other specialty plates as an option for Florida’s drivers. Every plate purchased would benefit various educational programs run by the Sons of Confederate Veterans of Florida, and would make Florida the 11th Southern State to commission a specialty plate for the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Anti-Confederate bigots have been back pedaling in Florida since about late January when the SCV and other Confederate groups unofficially launched an offensive to push back against the anti-Confederate bigots that have been trying since 1992 to Ethnically Cleanse Florida of its native Confederate history, heritage and culture. The anti-Confederate groups received an even bigger blow on April 17th from the combination of the restoration of the Southern Party of Florida and fall out from the Rev. Wright racism scandal.
The Florida Patriot and the SPFL urges all members and readers to contact your State legislator and let them know that you support the SCV Heritage Plate and will not vote for any one that stands in its way. We also urge supporters to call your local Talk Radio AM Stations, the voice of the South must be heard!
