SCV HONORS FOUNDERS ON JULY 4th

Tampa, FL - The Tampa Camp of the Florida Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans whom own the now infamous world’s largest Confederate Battle Flag which is flown from the local Tampa Confederate Veterans Memorial Park, honored our founding fathers today. The SCV Flags Across Florida organization lowered the Stars-n-Bars, as a one time voluntary deal, and raised the honored Betsy Ross, 13 Star, American Revolution Flag in honor of our Founding Fathers and in honor for the Cause our Southern Ancestors fought to defend.

Flags Across Florida and SCV Member, Marion Lambert had this to say about the flying of the Betsy Ross…

“This is simply the flag of our founding fathers who were fighting for the same thing that the second American revolution (War for Southern Independence) was fighting for and that’s liberty… The Betsy Ross flag is a flag of independence and freedom fighting and that’s what the second revolution – the civil war – was all about…  This sort of shows that we are truly a diverse outfit organization that is looking for the true history of the South,”

The Confederate Battle Flag won’t go back up until a Confederate Memorial site at the base of the flagpole is finished. Then, the SCV and UDC plan to fly the Stars-n-Bars 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That plan has drawn plenty of unfounded attacks and misguided controversy from a handful of opponets across the Tampa Bay Area, but the support in favor of the flag, which is rarely reported by the local and national media, far out numbers 10:1 any opposition to it.

The leadership of the Southern Party of Florida was unavalible for comment regarding the flying of the Betsy Ross Flag in honor of our Founding Fathers due to the holiday.
